a) Critically discuss the range of factors that affect communication with children. (1000 words)
Chapter 1 Communicating with children
Gill Crow, Pam Foley and Stephen Leverett
The introduction summary begins by defining communication as the fundamental nature of positive relationships, good practice and effective services for children with the following:
Knowing how to interact with children in ways that support the development of their abilities to think, learn and form good relationships with the people around them is a core skill for everyone working with children .
Before adding that the authors offer guidance for improving communication skills and explain just how this can contribute to children’s social and emotional development.
On page 22 the range of factors that affect communication with childen are defined as three. The first expressive skills for stating a point of view non defensively including emotional skills to express feelings.
The second is defined as listening skills for understanding another persons point of view, including the ability to wait before expressing the opinion of yourself in order to understand those of others. Examples of this include the vicars tea party where the interrogation is mild and set at ‘up to anything interesting.’ To which the response should be accurate, I tended to focus on my studies and history rather than what is theologically required such as “…well do I need confession for buying a porn mag with the girls from the youth club in, challenging one of the mothers about it and mailing it to the vicars wife to gte them on the housing register. Then when in relapse I bought them again and gave them to social services to protect them from the photographer when hes the commissioned lay minister. For which I’d rather be either Jewish or a reformed roman catholic as this position is anti many in the local Church of England as ‘art appreciators’ that includes Page 3 upwards on the relevant scale of imagery.”
Finally Crow et al define process skills that negotiate and manage the way people interact, identifying what information is needed and is appropriate. This requires an ability to manage and terminate the conversation. The problem with said position and line of argument is that it requires a belief that the mentally ill, disabled and aged can communicate with children as much as practicioners. This in a church setting requires a childrens advocate and interdisciplinary childrens ctte across all the youth work areas of the given parish area. That way the Scouts, Brigades and Guides can liase into provision and other churches that cooperate have statutory function into canon so that all can deal with their diverging perspectives on the issues involved in accordance with the law of the UK state parliament.
b) How can practitioners become better at communicating with the children they work with? (1000 words)
------------------------word count begins below this line-----------------------------------
Childrens practicioners are best at communicating with children in the context of positive families and relationships. The main part of the text that deals with this is chapter 3 by Rixon. In that he notes that the “…ability to form positive working relationships is fundamental to all those involved in practice with children and their families.”
On the DVD about Saltley Cluster there are examples of good practice from a range of practicioners, such as being reflective about what the children did during playtime and children build up their own profiles and develop into education plans that develop into learning plans at Further education colleges and universities. Valerie explains that that’s “…because we work with what they’re interested in and because we do that, we promote language, we promote all kinds of learning and… they’re moving at their own pace ”
Her examples is that a child “used the filiming as a medium for speaking, she uses the karaoke machines and the puppets that we have as a medium of communicating with us. ” Hence Valerie says “Being able to communicate is a real asset when working with children…” with body language being “so important” as well as the way that you behave to other children in front of them.
These diverse core skills are so important to show that theres a person whos both caring and empathetic and can feed into her colleagues’ Anita Chauhan is one of them in the family support team which manages housing advice, child protection etc under the Every Child Matters initiative brought in by government to include health provision. This is expanded with a discussion about stopping smoking and as once child Mustaf puts it “They learnt us about how to fund raise like activities so we don’t get bored…. They give you like, like after, they give you, after when we got out to our classes…” examples include quizzes and certificates. An example of this is given by Joanna and Simone in their class presentation.
Joanna and Simonnes example of best parcticve involves a dialogue with the children as to good diet, no smoking and alcohol and the basics of the criminal justice process.
Miss Howells approach is to invite all of the parents into school “…to work with the children, so they feel comfortable coming into school and so we can have lots of fun working together” Called the Year 3 connect club, the children come in and set challenges that are given to them. Some had their brothers and sisters there. One mum observed that they had learnt a lot from the experience. This is the every child matters initiative.

An unnecessary risk that doesn't need idolising
Deployment of the princes
So should the Duke of Cambridge go to Afghanistan?
I’m gonna risk The wrath of Clarence house and say NO.
The Duke has saved life in North Wales and is about to become a dad. Under any normal circumstance (even in war) he’s soon due compassionate paternity leave.
Should a potential peacemaker and trade envoy / diplomat such as him in a reassigned job after the birth of his child(ren?) attract criticism from moderate middle eastern opinion at a time when negotiation is needed
He has to be treated as a normal dad in these circumstances.
The counter argument is that Prince Harry should assist the Duke in this or follow the training of the Duke of York in this role himself as it’s a job above the civil list, said civil list may be curtailed in the future.
And while I’m blogging the Israeli election I’m gonna dare to say vote Kadima for a moderate Likud- Kadima- Labour coalition to deliver a peace agreement. The settler parties have to be listened to in the context of either dual nationality or if their territory is within the negotiated west bank Palestinian state, resettlement within Israel proper or Palestinian citizenship under a moderate constitution and democratic assembly, possibly devolved from the Palestinian state proper’s joint Gaza – West Bank legislature.

The civilian military interface in the united kingdom
James A Ware
The united kingdom has reserve forces who work part time for the military and police and are paid and trained pro rata or up to their own regular job. These regiments are based within regular regiments except for few exceptions.
The cadets forces are based on residency or near locality such as Ruislip, Northolt, Uxbridge. However centres to help the homeless and social work are there for civilians and those ‘retired from cadet forces and not used by their intekl gathering (the borough licencing ctte).
The problem is that in this borough the Score group and Up series of pornographic magazines use under 18 models which creates a group of underqualified or aided individuals unless given a place on the housing register and remiedial adult ed into sustainable employment at the airport. The score group was derived from babyface which was aiding teen mothers but now divides into two forms of titles, the older decades (similar to the 40, 50 up titles of the up series in south Ruislip) and the deflating breast implants problem of score title proper (for those who emigrate but don’t have health care of a sufficient standard).
Other titles and series such as Escort / Razzle are produced in other boroughs using similar methods and structures (the one that Alistair Campbell wrote for).
Yet these titles can if the models aren’t counselled or supported with non medication counselling lead to advertised sex houses in the local papers. These are in turn a break down in local communications and opportunities as teenagers at school or of school age try and make the money for university. This is illegal but regulated by social services or if massage saunas, special treatments by the licencing ctte.
From a male perspective the idea of Page 3 as a gateway drug from early age that this is permissible and women are ‘lacivious and available’ (UK secretary of education) that are false. That said these images are ingrained in the art of western society from the time of Ancient Greece and Rome, even in the Holy Land of places such as Smirna right through to the Renaissance and the art of both the Vatican and sculpture in the South Transept of St Pauls Cathedral. This potential inspiration for the ‘fallen madonna with the big boobies’ of Allo Allo sitcom fame on the BBC shows that those who object are often sidelined because they use the fusion of church and state to produce it as part of bounty payments or ‘resourcefulness exercises’. So the question to pose is can there ever be enough art if its production methods are now illegal, and are these methods set apart at Royal Institutes and Universities with the Royal Charter.
The problem that this poses is could it fuel demand for more holiday snaps of other royals that the Murdoch press did after the marriage of Charles and Diana, or has press regulation now curtailed the Royal Gallery mentaility of the paparazzi.

north wales care homes
The North wales care homes were a pre welfare state response to industrial poverty in Manchester and liverpool using funds from teh non conformist churches. as such these homes are now under local social services and charitable shop care and funding. This could ensure that current residents are aided and helped by Rowan Cantuar solving what he couldn't do as what was then the sub 'province' of wales as its (the Anglican church of England and Wales) status hadn't entirely been resolved. However for every case of abuse there is a loving couple in the rural areas who want to settle down together at sixth form age and need help in trinaing and support.
This is therefore a a sub judice matter of the highest import through the Childrens Commissioners of the Uniteed Kingdom and The Irish Republic through the Council of the Isles.
If you know of wnyone affected who needs counselling the Met Police have an abuse line for current cases, the number is 0207 610 4345

‘A Christmas gift to the Community’ Arla plan would include
supermarket, cinema, restaurants and homes
REN Gazette October 31st 2012
By Zoe Drewett
Zoe.drewitt@trinitysouth.co.uk
One person for development on Express dairies site, one
person against, one person then counters that best to get involved with process
of planning as then something can be agreed as ‘if we don’t want more traffic, it
will continue to stay derelict’
Sainsburys still want to rebuild their store so South
Ruislip gets section 106 and perhaps a new community centre centrally located
on the Arla site with construction and housing jobs and possibly a state cofe
primary school as well if pupil numbers go up in neighbouiring boroughs.
Zoe,
Here are the balanced thoughts as someone who has been on
the PCC and Deanery Synod representative for the CofE Parish
James.
The alternatives to a scout hut on the park behind St Marys
South Ruislip
When I’m not feeling so self important as a wannabe
politician on an anti porn mission and look at the nature of the historic
demographics and logistics of South Ruislip , I
examine the alternatives to a scout hut for St Marys South Ruislip and thus
literal parity with St Laurence Eastcote and St Andrews Roxbourne.
With this in Mind:
If the following is true
1)
The Garden of remembrance where the ashes of
dead parishioners are interred or scattered is full and the triangle of land
behind st marys is needed for that or bigger events in the vicarage garden.
2)
St Marys can afford through grants from the
diocese, sponsorship from the retail park central funds (such as Homebase,
Sainsburys etc), an atrium similar to St Joseph the workers Northolt (under the
tenure of the now Peter Willesden, the general secretary of Wealdstone) between
the chapel of the Holy Family, the nave of the church proper and church hall an
atrium and extension backwards of the Hall to cover the usage by scouts
instead, without losing its entire reserves form the sale of the second clergy
property in the 1970s (when the retired Bishop of Kensington was trainee clergy
living there).
3)
To counterbalance and complement football on
Queensmead school site and playground court games such as Basketball on Ruislip
High and gym based games at Vyners and Haydon, Bishop ramsey and Hockey at BR
and Douai, a rugby goal is achieved through Chrysalis funding for the park
behind the church so that children can be coached there on a Saturday similar
to Bessingby Park football teams. The goal can be of football width so can
double up if need be.
4)
The South Ruislip community centre want in conjunction
with the Scouts and the Methodist Church Boys brigade a hut on the former
derelict nursery site as a second venue or replacement one should ST Marys seek
to have a church of England primary or secondary school for the housing in
Roxeth and Roxbourne should the housing numbers of the children go up as baby boomers
go into retirement homes or the flats by the Piccadilly Line in the parish of
St Pauls Roxeth (formerly St Hildas and ST Marys Harrow Hill)
5)
The South Ruislip Evangelical Church have more
scouts / Guides / Brigades and cadet youth provision since the closure of the 1st
South Ruislip Scout Hut for housing as it was down a narrow road, a hut is
built in the field (with possible campsite to replace ones sold off recently)
at the end of Great Central Avenue (as its near sports grounds and a farm in
use so they could learn skills badges) or one by Bourne Primary on the field
between it and Mahlon Avenue, with funding by the state for the latter entirely
and the former with reference to Scout Central funds as it involves the
creation of a campsite.
6)
The St john are
getting the Phoenix day centre to train first
aid courses similar to North Harrow, Richmond , Edmonton , Leytonstone and York Road .
Then I’d recommend a public consultation, land transfer of
the land behind st marys in the Jubillee year and agreement by the PCC in
conjunction with the local council as to its preferred option between second
scout hut or atrium and hall extension and the wider implications for a ward
based referendum and consultation to ammend the unitary development plan, with
reference to the future of RAF Northolt and whether that is needed for housing
like the South Ruislip Community centre site as such planning matters are the
purview of the GLA and Mayor of London, if the Express Dairies site delivers a
like for like replacement as part of its planning for sustainable development
that can be used by WEA and other adult ed provision (such as University of the
third age and Open University tutorials) not covered by Hillingdon Adult ed
which is focused on skills and employability as part of value to the taxpayer.
The atrium option could deliver a DofE award venue as well
should someone wish to run it or the youth service doesn’t want to run one in
South Ruislip Youth Centre
They would need to be allowed by a church that looks to the
Church lads and girls brigade (based on harrow hill and distinct from the more
non comformist Boys and girls brigades in the Methodist Churches) should that
be desired and not counterproductive given that teen angels and the UP series
of magazines has been produced in the vicinity of Queensmead, just like the
Score Group in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
I hope that the last paragraph point is taken up by someone
as such publications distort the perspectives of men and the contemporaries of
those who pose away from relationships.

sir jimmy saville
Last night in the UK Sir Jimmy Saville was debated on the radio show the moral maze.
1) He did raise a lot for charity, including barnados however the English law on consent is clear at 16 soince teh nineteenth century when it was raised from 13 owing to illnesses and workhouse poverty in the industrial towns and polluted wells in the capital affecting growth
2) His dream making for a lot of now adults may now be shatterred
3) He abused his position of chaplain volunteer
4) The hospital was designed for children who had rare conditions (such as premature overgrowth and development) based on lessons learned from the 1948 paralympiad
5) The scots law of consent at 14 and marriage at 16 does not negate from this
6) All of which means that if he did what he is alleged to have done (namely abused a English Statutory minor while in a vulnerable position under treatment) He should have been investigated and tried.
7) However the BBC is a corporate institution with a reputation to protect like any other and its internal investigations unit may have been silenced. Staff on final salary pensions who have seen that happen may have felt fearful of their families futures and not reported it to the police.
That is the best explanation that can be offerred without recourse to chaplaincy
also regarding the papal knighthood and allegations of necrophilia, the honour may have been made becasue he was very good at extreme CPR and could revive patients in teh operating theatre (the job of chaplaincy volunteers and nurses in surgery if so trained). Its a way for volunteers to help with others and receive medical care as part of their service to teh community.
